Obtaining your product key
When you launch the BigDisk configuration application, the first screen you see displays your product key.
You can copy it by clicking on the 'Copy' button, which will place it on your clipboard
Welcome to BigDisk. This guide will help you get started with BigDisk, but is not meant to replace our enthusiastic support. If at any time you
encounter difficulty, please reach out to us.
Installation
BigDisk can be installed by obtaining the appropriate installer for your platform. Once you've downloaded this file, run
the executable and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. This software must be installed as an Administrator.
The installation will install the following components and their supporting libraries on your PC:
BigDisk.App.exe - This is the core configuration application.
BigDisk.Service.exe - This is the core service, which must run as Administrator in order to ensure the software functions correctly.
The BigDisk VFS Driver - This software is copied, but the installation and uninstallation of the driver is controlled from within the configuration application
If you run into any dependency issues, please ensure you have a current version of Microsoft's .NET Framework. v4.6 is recommended.
Initial Configuration
Now that BigDisk and its associated components have been installed on your machine, you can begin the configuration process. After running 'BigDisk Configuration' (BigDisk.App.exe), the first thing you'll want to do
is to request a trial, or enter your registration details.
Next, you should install the system device driver. If the application detects the presense of this driver, only the uninstall option is available and the current version information is displayed.
If it is not installed, you need to click the install button and wait a few moments while this operation is completed. This is a one-time operation, and you can uninstall the driver at any time.
Finally, you should create a BigDisk. This consists of:
Name the volume
Assign an alphabetic letter as the mount path
Add member volumes
Choose a balancing algorithm
Folder - This scheme retains the existing directory structure of your member volumes when possible. If space

Feel free to explore the options in the configuration app, and enable / disable them according to your preferences.
Running BigDisk Service
The BigDisk Service installs as a Windows Service. This allows you to configure the user context under which the Service runs, as well
as leverage the existing mangement infrastructure. The Service can be started and stopped from the Windows Service Control Manager (services.msc)
or from the buttons on the configuration app.
If the process fails to start, logs indicating why can be found in the installation directory.
